The SSI Basic Diver program, also known as Try Scuba Diving, is an extensive introductory course where you not only dive in the pool, but also dive in the open water with fish and other marine life! Spread over 2 days you will do 1 pool dive and 1 open air dive.
In the pool you will be introduced to the diving equipment, learn some basic exercises such as buoyancy and have plenty of time to get used to the sensation of breathing underwater. Then it's time for adventure. We are going to make a real dive in the Vinkeveense Plassen at Zandeiland 4, one of the most popular diving sites in the Netherlands!
The program consists of:
During the SSI Basic Diver program you will learn the basics of diving. In the pool you will learn the basic skills regarding your diving mask, your regulator and the correct breathing patterns and body position in the water. You determine the pace yourself under the guidance of one of our professional instructors.
After the pool session we go diving in Vinkeveen. There is of course plenty to see in the open water. The Vinkeveense Plassen and Zandeiland 4 in particular are known for their large pike and pike-perch, but common perch and crayfish can also be found in abundance. The clear water is not only home to fish. Zandeiland 4 is a large underwater playground with various wrecks and other underwater sights. The perfect first dive in your own country!
